Planting Instruction
  • How To Sow: Choose a well-drained site in full sun. Sow these seeds in trays for subsequent transplanting or, after frosts, sow directly in a well prepared seedbed. Sow seeds 1 cm apart, in groups 30 cm apart and to a depth of 1 cm.
  • Seedling Care: Keep trays or seedbed evenly moist during the germination period of 14-21 days. Apply vegetable fertiliser two weeks after germination for healthier plants and maximum crop. Protect your seedlings from slugs, snails and insect pests; go to mcgregors.co.nz for appropriate plant health and pest control products.
  • Hints and Tips: To produce extra-long white shanks when plants are 10 cm high, make a trench 10 cm deep. Plant leeks into the bottom of the trench and cover with soil.
  • Our seeds are not treated with Neonicotinoids.
  • These seeds are not pasteurised.
