The foliage is green or silver green and in some species as much a feature as the flower. How To Prepare: Simply mix peat, moss and some gritty sand to create soil. A few small rocks at the base of the plant also helps. Sow directly into well prepared seedbed. Where to sow: Best sown in cool soil. Plant between rocks and light material such as scree, remembering to keep their roots cool. Care: Sometimes slow and erratic. Keep seedbed or tray evenly moist during germination period. How: Cover with a peat, moss and gritty sand mix to a depth of 5 mm.
