Planting Instruction
  • How To Sow: Choose a well-drained site in full sun. Sow these seeds in trays for subsequent transplanting or, after frosts, sow directly in a well prepared seedbed. Sow seeds 1 cm apart, in rows 30 cm apart and to a depth of 1 cm. Later, thin or transplant to 10 cm apart.
  • Seedling Care: Keep seedbed evenly moist during the germination period of 14-21 days. Apply vegetable fertiliser two weeks after germination for healthier plants and maximum crop. Protect your seedlings from slugs, snails and insect pests; go to mcgregors.co.nz for appropriate plant health and pest control products.
  • Hints & Tips: Lift when bulbs are firm and tops tend to fall over. Only store 'sound' bulbs and keep in a cool, airy place.
  • Our seeds are not treated with Neonicotinoids.
