Planting Instruction
  • How to Sow: Choose a well-drained site in full sun. Sow these seeds in trays for subsequent transplanting or, after frosts, sow directly in a well prepared seedbed. Sow seeds 1 cm apart and to a depth of 2 cm.
  • Seedling Care: Keep trays or seedbed evenly moist during the germination period of 21-28 days. Apply vegetable fertiliser two weeks after germination for healthier plants and maximum crop. Protect your seedlings from slugs, snails and insect pests; go to mcgregors.co.nz for appropriate plant health and pest control products.
  • Hints & Tips: Prune hard in early Spring to prevent the plant from getting too woody. Thyme can be used as ground cover, happily growing in the cracks between pavers and rocks.
  • Our seeds are not treated with Neonicotinoids.
  • These seeds are not pasteurised.
